Looking for Fourth of July events in North Charlotte in 2026? America is turning 250, and North Charlotte is ready to celebrate! From fireworks and parades to community festivals, concerts, and special America 250 events, there are plenty of ways for families to join in the red, white, and blue fun this summer.

Whether you're looking for the biggest fireworks display in town, a patriotic parade, or a family-friendly festival, we've rounded up the best Fourth of July and America 250 celebrations happening in and around North Charlotte.

FIREWORKS:


SkyShow at Truist Field

If your family loves big fireworks displays, SkyShow is the event to see. This annual Charlotte tradition combines patriotic music, entertainment, and one of the largest fireworks shows in the Southeast.

Families can purchase tickets here to enjoy the festivities inside Truist Field or find nearby viewing spots around Uptown Charlotte. The fireworks typically begin around 9:15 p.m. and are synchronized to music, creating an unforgettable experience for kids and adults alike.

Romare Bearden Park

Looking for a free option? Romare Bearden Park is one of the best places to watch SkyShow without purchasing stadium tickets.

Families can arrive early, spread out a blanket, enjoy a picnic dinner, and let the kids run around before the fireworks begin. The open lawn and Uptown views make it a favorite spot for local families.

Carowinds Star-Spangled Nights

Why choose between rides and fireworks when you can have both?

Carowinds hosts its annual Star-Spangled Nights celebration featuring thrilling rides during the day and a spectacular fireworks display after dark. Families can enjoy roller coasters, kid-friendly attractions, water park fun, and patriotic entertainment all in one visit. A full weekend of excitement, July 3rd-5th. Season or Day passes required!

Charlotte Motor Speedway (June 30th)

Summer shoot out series. Fireworks after race. Tickets required.

Harrisburg July 4th

The 2026 Celebration will feature amusements, live music, and TWO nights of spectacular fireworks! Tickets required!

Friday, July 3, 4 - 10p.m. (fireworks 9:30p.m.)

Family Fun without fireworks

U.S. National Whitewater Center

The Whitewater Center's Fourth of July celebration is perfect for active families. While recent celebrations have focused more on outdoor fun than fireworks, the event offers a full day of family entertainment.

Enjoy: Live music, Outdoor recreation, Walking and biking trails, Family activities and Food vendors.

It's a great choice for families who want to spend the day outdoors before heading elsewhere for fireworks later in the evening. Turn the holiday into an all-day adventure, Friday, July 3, from 6 to 10 p.m. and Saturday, July 4, 2026, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. 

Town of Davidson

Celebrate July 4th and America 250 with the Town of Davidson! Join us on the Town Green on Saturday, July 4, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. for Live Music with Joe Daddy, then line up for the Annual Patriotic Stroll in front of the Davidson Town Hall & Community Center at 5:15 p.m. and receive a commemorative America 250 Bell to ring during the stroll to the Green. All participants are encouraged to dress in festive attire and to decorate their wagons, bicycles, strollers, and pets in red, white, and blue. A color guard comprised of members of the Davidson Police and Fire departments will lead the community up South Street onto Main Street to the Town Green. At 6:00 p.m., Yacht Rock Radio Tribute Band will perform on the Green. We look forward to seeing everyone out there as we celebrate July 4th in the Town of Davidson!

4th of July at Birkdale 

Enjoy the annual bike parade and wet down by the Huntersville Fire Department. A block party with exciting activities will follow after the wet down!

Schedule of Events:

10:00 AM: Decorate your bike with us near Concierge
11:00 AM: Bike parade begins in front of Starbucks
11:30 AM: Special appearance from the Huntersville Fire Department
11:45 AM: Celebrate with a block party in The Plaza featuring face painting, balloon twisters, magicians, and more!

In preparation for the bike parade and block party, Birkdale Commons Parkway from Arhaus to Regal will be blocked off. All parking decks will be available.


PARADES:


Harrisburg Parade 

Date: Saturday, July 4, 2026
Time: 9:00 AM – approximately 11:00 AM
Location/Route: Begins at Captain Steve's area on Highway 49 and travels north along Highway 49, ending near Robinson Avenue.

Coulwood Parade

Date: Saturday, July 4, 2026
Time: 9:00 AM (traditional start time)
Location/Route: Begins at Coulwood Clubhouse - Kentberry Drive - Coulwood Drive - Cathey Road - Paw Creek Elementary

*Bake off and pool games to follow 

Highland Creek Parade 

Date: Saturday, July 4, 2026

Time:  9:00–10:30 AM

Location/Route: Prosperity Park follows a neighborhood route: Fairvista Drive, Highland Creek Parkway, Crownvista, Morningsong Lane, Returns to the park.
