HAWKs (Hiking Adventures With Kids) is a nature-based outdoor education program where children hike, explore, and fall in love with the natural world through child-led discovery. Experienced naturalist educators create safe, fun environments for kids to learn about local wildlife, develop trail skills, and build lasting confidence and connection to the outdoors. Our primarily outdoor programs encourage children’s sense of wonder about the natural world, familiarize them with local plants and animals, teach them the fundamentals of hiking, trail safety, and LNT (Leave No Trace) while instilling a deep sense of connection to the outdoors. Led by experienced educators, HAWKs knows how to connect students to the natural world in a fun and safe way. In today’s digital age, children face unprecedented levels of stress and anxiety. The constant pressures of social media, academic achievement, and overscheduled lives can leave kids feeling disconnected, overwhelmed, and uncertain. But research shows that time spent in nature can be a powerful antidote. HAWKs programing allows kids to learn, adapt, and overcome obstacles, building lifelong skills including: Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking Leadership and Teamwork Self-Reliance and Independence Creativity and Imagination Physical Health and Wellness HAWKs is an investment in our children’s wellness as much as an investment in the future of our environment. HAWKs is designed to keep kids present, engaged with their group, and connected to the natural world—without screens. HAWKs is not 'just a hike.' Kids learn local ecosystems and trail skills through child-led discovery, games, and creative projects while practicing Leave No Trace principles. HAWKs earns trust with small groups, trained educators, consistent supervision, clear sign-in/out, weather planning, allergy awareness, and safety-first coordination. HAWKs is built on two principles that most enrichment programs have abandoned: learning happens best in real places, and children need time to play, explore, and discover without a script.
